Brazil's TAM starts negotiations with unions over pending staff cuts

TAM Air Fleet
TAM Linhas Aéreas says they are negotiating with the local pilots & cabin crew union (Sindicato Nacional dos Aeronautas - SNA) to "adjust" their staff numbers.

Reports out of Brazil suggest that overall, "up to 1000" crew positions concerning pilots, co-pilots and stewards will be cut. The carrier blames high fuel prices and the devaluation of the Brazilian Real as the "main causes" for the staff cuts.
