Dutch Antilles Express now banned from Curaçao; ATRs grounded

Dutch Antilles Express has reportedly been put out of business after the operator at Curacao airport, Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), banned the airline from operating there with effect from August 24. Local paper, Antilliaans Dagblad, claims the CAP made the move as a result of outstanding debts.

The development is the latest in a series of events that has hit the airline's operations hard. Recently, flights to Bonaire were suspended while DAE's turboprop fleet - two ATR72-200s and an ATR 42-300 - was grounded for undisclosed reasons.
