Midairlines F50 at Khartoum on Aug 6th 2013, propeller blades penetrated fuselage




A Midairlines Fokker 50, registration ST-ARG performing flight 7Y-450 from Khartoum to El Obeid (Sudan) with 50 passengers and 5 crew, was preparing for departure when the aircraft's right hand propeller collided with a ground power unit causing the propeller blade tips to separate. 

Debris penetrated the passenger window abeam of the propeller, other debris went through the reinforced fuselage section below that window causing substantial damage to the aircraft.

Sudan's AAICD is investigating the occurrence rated a serious incident. The AAICD told The Aviation Herald there were no injuries as result of the occurrence.
