TCAA issues ground-handling tender for all airports excepting Dar es Salaam JNIA.

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) has issued a tender for the provision of ground-handling services at the country's airports excepting Dar es Salaam's Julius Nyerere International Airport which the body claims, already has adequate licence holders awaiting to be concessioned by the Tanzania Airports Authority,

Arusha Airport

The tender announcement follows a decision taken by the body's Board of Directors in late February in which it reviewed and adjusted 2009 legislation governing the liberalisation of ground handling services, including aviation fuelling, in Tanzania. The changes affect airports in Dar Es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and Arusha.

As reported previously, both Zanzibar's Abeid Amani Karume International Airport and Kilimanjaro International now have provision for a second Passenger & Cargo Ground Handler and a third Aviation Fuel Service provider while Arusha Airport now has provision for a second Aviation Fuel Service provider.

The tender closes September 28 2013.
