Antrak Air chairman threatens lawsuit against state backed carrier

Antrak Air founder and chairman Alhaji Asuma Banda has announced that he would immediately take legal action on behalf of regional carrier Antrak Air should the government of Ghana go ahead with plans to establish a new national carrier.

The country's transportation ministry is considering setting up a new airline as a public/private partnership replacing previous failed ventures Ghana International Airlines and Ghana Airways.

Banda believes that the government should not be involved in the airline business and that Ghana would "have no money to throw away" considering how "mismanagement of their operations" would have led to the bankruptcies of the previous two airlines.
