Aeroflot mulls Q400s for Aurora as 787 decision only due next year

Aeroflot could potentially acquire Dash 8-400s for its nascent subsidiary, Aurora, should a joint venture between Bombardier and Russia's Rostec State Corporation for the manufacture of the turboprop in Russia go ahead. Russian Aviation reports that Aeroflot's CEO, Vitaly Savelyev, made the revelation during an interview with the local media.

In addition, Mr Savelyev said his airline would only make a final decision on its B787-8 order next year though this is also dependent on Boeing resolving the type's growing list of operational problems.
"We should not make any premature decisions. It takes time. At present we don’t have the Boeing 787 in our fleet. I can’t say anything bad about it. The information I get is just a starting point. The deadline for taking this decision is 2014."
